After 12 hours of play, the £25,000 Single-Day High Roller at the PokerStars European Poker Tour London at the Hilton Park Lane hotel is over. The 19-person field was small and worked well. It started three hours later than planned and ended around 3 a.m.

Daniel Dvoress won the one-day event and took home his first EPT title, which was worth £196,170. It’s his fifth live tournament win, and most of them have happened in the Bahamas. This win adds to his already impressive list of accomplishments, as the Canadian has won more than $21 million in his long and successful poker career.

Everyday Activities

The field of 19 consisted of a few re-entries, and after the dinner break, when registration concluded, there were just nine players remained. Dvoress was a huge stack throughout the most of the day, since he started collecting early and never stopped. Mike Watson’s call against Dvoress’s overpair of kings resulted in a key victory for him just before the dinner break. This provided him a significant chip advantage, which he would later exploit to his advantage at the final table.

After his ace-queen was out-flopped, Sam Greenwood went from having the second-largest stack to being the fifth-last player eliminated. This reduced the number of paid participants to four.

Approximately 45 minutes later, Danny Tang was eliminated in fourth place after beginning the day as chip leader. His pocket tens were defeated by Dvoress’s pocket eights when a flush was produced on the river, which ultimately led to his elimination.

When Dvoress shoved from the button and Joao Vieira, with a shorter stack, was still to act in the big blind, Pablo Silva was placed in a precarious position in the small blind. Unfortunately for Silva, the board ran out and he was eliminated in third place.

Heads-up play lasted a single hand as Dvoress quickly eliminated Vieira, who had just a few huge blinds but would still get the pay increase from third to second place.

Day 3 of the £5,300 Main Event of the EPT London is getting underway, with Julien Sitbon holding the chip lead.

At the start of play, 80 players returned to the felt, but only 64 remain, including Ole Schemion, Erik Seidel, and PokerStars Ambassador Ramon Colillas.

Martin Jacobson, who won the £1,100 UKIPT Main Event earlier in the season, has a stack of chips but is at the bottom of the stacks.
